Bank Loan: The University facilitates educational loans from all Schedule Nationalized Banks. It also provides all the necessary information and document in this regard.
Merit cum Means Scholarships: The University offers a number of scholarships for postgraduate and Ph.D. students. Most of these scholarships are merit-based. However, support is also available to students belonging to economically weaker sections of the society through the Students Aid Fund. The office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare also processes various scholarships instituted by state governments for students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes as well as those instituted by Private Trusts and Foundations. Central Govt. Aids: Ministry of Minority Affairs has been providing scholarships to the students belonging to Minority Communities.
FREE ADMISSION FOR MERITORIOUS POOR STUDENTS & TOPPERS
ERD Foundation has taken an initiative to support and provide free education to the exceptionally meritorious students from families belonging to BELOW POVERTY LINE, as they cannot afford the financial liability of such courses.
The management of ERDF has been giving free admission for meritorious students of BPL families in all the institutes run by ERDF. Similarly, the decision has been taken to admit meritorious BPL students especially from rural areas as per criteria prescribed by both ERDF and USTM. BPL students already passed out from different institutes have been engaged in various reputed organizations making the efforts of ERDF fruitful.
Special Relaxation: Special Relaxation in fees will be given to the exceptionally meritorious students belonging to various backward minority and tribal communities of the NE region according to the norms followed by ERDF.
Free Admission for Toppers: ERDF will sponsor free admission to the toppers of the branches of different Universities of North East region in available courses under different schools at USTM
33% Reserved for Girl Students: The management of ERDF has taken the decision to admit 33% of girl students in all the branches under different schools at USTM to encourage girl students for higher education. Special preference will be given to the students from backward and underprivileged sections of society.
