Health Camp held at Amar Ghar by UHAN, USTM
9th Mile, Khanapara, Ri Bhoi, April 8, 2024: The Department of Commerce of the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) in association with the University Hospital of Ayurveda and Naturopathy (UHAN), a unit of IA Ayurveda Medical College, USTM organised a health Camp at Amar Ghar, an old age home at Patharquary, Guwahati on Saturday.
A team of four doctors and three nurses from UHAN was led by Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, the principal of IA Ayurvedic Medical College. The medical team provided essential healthcare services to the elderly residents.
Alongside the medical professionals, commerce students actively participated, engaging with the elderly and gaining sensitivity towards their needs. Additionally, members of the USTM National Service Scheme (NSS) unit played a vital role in facilitating the event and ensuring its smooth execution.
Dr. Geetika Kalita, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, coordinated the diverse team, highlighting the university’s commitment to holistic education and community welfare.
The residents of Amar Ghar expressed gratitude for the comprehensive support received, reflecting the profound impact of such initiatives in fostering inclusivity and compassion within society. This collective effort not only addressed the immediate healthcare requirements of the residents but also fostered a sense of community and empathy among all involved.
