A Master in Computer Science from the prestigious AMU, he got lucrative job offers from MNCs and IT industries of the country as well as abroad but he decided to come back to his native place with a vision and embarked on a career of educational entrepreneurship.
He is the Chairman of ERD Foundation, Guwahati and promoter of the University.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor
Prof G D Sharma was the Founder Vice Chancellor of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Viswavidyalaya, former Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University and the former Pro Vice Chancellor of Assam University. An eminent Scientist, he was the Editor of 7 Journals; has around 261 research publications in his credit, apart from being the member of different Academic Societies of the country and abroad.
He is currently also the President of Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
